*Noxious Weed Control

Latest News
  • Field inspections will begin in April!
    • Okanogan County Noxious Weed Control Board (OCNWCB) staff will inspect properties for control of noxious weed species designated by the state and county Noxious Weed Control boards as enforcement species. Landowners with any of these species present on their property shall be required to control the noxious weeds according to provisions outlined in Chapter 17.10 RCW. All landowners will be notified of noxious weeds present that are classified as enforceable and control will be required. This notice is published according to Weed Board policy to notify landowners in our county that OCNWCB may enter their property according to the provisions outlined in RCW 17.10.160, and that this notice (also published in our local newspapers of record) shall serve as “Reasonable Attempt” as defined according to the aforementioned RCW. If you have any questions regarding the enforcement inspection process, please contact the Noxious Weed Control Office. As always, if you see us out and about, please feel free to stop and talk with us.  We are more than happy to answer any weed related questions that you might have.  We look forward to working with everyone again this weed season!  This year, our office will again be offering free on-site weed control consultations to landowners in Okanogan County.  To schedule, please contact our office (509-422-7165 or noxiousweeds@co.okanogan.wa.us)

Our Mission Statement:
To protect all lands and waters in Okanogan County from the devastating influences of non-native noxious weeds. We will promote control efforts through integrated weed management, focusing on education and prevention as the best control practice. Your weed control issues are a priority with the Noxious Weed Control Board and we will always strive to help you in your control efforts.  We encourage you to contact our office with your weed related concerns; whether they are regarding a particular weed species, noxious weed control requirements under RCW 17.10, or weed infestations that are present on privately owned land or public lands under a County, State or Federal agency's jurisdiction.  If we cannot provide the information or assistance that you need, we will give you the contact information of the person we believe will be able to best assist you.  Only by sharing our concerns, seeking information, and adapting to differing circumstances can we hope to achieve the invasive species control that is needed to protect the lands of Okanogan County.
