911 Dispatch Center
The Okanogan County Communications Center is a 24/7 9-1-1 emergency dispatch
The 9-1-1 communications center is a division within the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office. The communications center provides 9-1-1 telephone call receiving and radio dispatch services to the 42,000+ citizens, visitors and 30+ Law, Fire, and EMS agencies within Okanogan County. The communications deputies are National Academy of Emergency Dispatch certified and complete the Washington State 9-1-1 Telecommunicator I & II courses. Initial training is on-the-job and often completed in 4-8 months.
Annually the communications center dispatches over 30,000 calls for service to public safety agencies and processes approximately 100,000 9-1-1 and non-emergency phone calls.
The Okanogan County Communications team is comprised of:
- 1 - Administrator / 911 Coordinator ( Chief Deputy of Special Operations)
- 3 - Communications Sergeants
- 10 - Communications Deputies
- 1 - Radio / IT Technician
