Okanogan

The Okanogan Basin Planning Unit met for its first meeting on September 23, 2004.  Scheduled to complete Phase 1 before the close of the 2004 calendar year, the planning unit is developing its ground rules, operating procedures and determining which components of watershed planning that they desire to pursue in the planning process.

The Okanogan Conservation District is the Lead Agency as designated by the Initiating Governments of Okanogan County, the City of Omak and Oroville Tonasket Irrigation District. (The Colville Confederated Tribes have declined to participate in any watershed planning process that may effect them.)

The Okanogan Conservation District will be providing information regarding the Okanogan Basin Planning Unit on their website.  When this occurs, a link will be provided from this page.  In the interim, if you have any information needs regarding watershed planning in the Okanogan Watershed, contact the Okanogan Conservation District at (509) 422.0855 extension 5.
