911 Dispatcher Testing

(CIVIL SERVICE)

***Local testing available September 28, 2019***

The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for 911 Dispatcher. OCSO is offering a local test for this position in order to obtain a roster on which to draw from (1 Dispatch position currently open). The starting salary for 911 Dispatch is $3,268 per month (shift work). Also included are excellent medical, dental and vision benefits, paid life insurance, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays as well as retirement and a health savings account.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum age requirement is 18 years
  2. Typing skills - 30 wpm.
  3. United States Citizen
  4. Valid Washington State Driver's license
  5. High School graduate or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  6. No felony convictions

Background investigation, psychological and polygraph exams conducted on successful candidates. Hiring is provisional, based on outcome of completed psychological evaluation.

Local testing will start on September 28, 2019.  The written exam will take place in the Okanogan County Commissioners Hearing room promptly at 10 a.m. Registration for those testing is required through Public Safety Testing at www.publicsafetytesting.com. The testing fee will be paid to PST upon registration through the website. Pre-registration begins at 9:45 a.m. Please bring picture ID. Upon completion of the written exam (approx... 3 hours).  911 Dispatch test will be scored and posted through PST and available to view on the following Monday.

Control Room Operator/Records Clerk

Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office

Examination to establish a roster of qualified candidates for the positions of Control Room Operator and Records Clerk. There is currently one vacancy for Records Clerk.

SALARY: $3138 per month with benefits

REQUIREMENTS: Eligible to work in the United States, WA Drivers’ License, HS grad or GED and at least 21 years of age. Control Room Operator typing requirement is 20 wpm and Records Clerk typing requirement is 30 wpm. Applicant cannot have been convicted of any felonies. Background investigation, psychological and polygraph exams conducted on successful candidates. Hiring is provisional, based on outcome of psychological evaluation and polygraph exam.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications packets are accepted on a continuous basis. However, to be able to take the next written test, application packets must be received by August 23, 2019 at 4:00pm.
