The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met for a Regular session at 123 5th Avenue North, Okanogan, Washington on September 30, 2020, where Commissioner DeTro and Commissioner Hover attended via Zoom and Commissioner Branch and the Clerk of the Board, Laleña Johns, physically present.

Discussion Purchase of Full Body Scanner for Jail with Quoted Maintenance Costs
Commissioners discussed their previous motion of Tuesday, September 29, 2020 where they authorized the Undersheriff to purchase a full body scanner for the jail and up to $6,000 annually for maintenance costs. Commissioners had requested the Undersheriff contact the company to inquire about the full cost of maintenance. A quote was provided today that included maintenance costs above and beyond the approved amount, so the board wished to amend their previous motion.

Commissioners discussed the quote from the company that included the which would be $10,000 annually after that, which would impact the Jail fund 160, not current expense.

Motion Approve Full Body Scanner Cost Quote
Commissioner Hover moved to authorize the purchase of the full body scanner by the Jail, per the quote provided by the Undersheriff, which included the first five years of maintenance costs rolled into the total, with $10,000 annually after that, pending the sole source determination and per the county’s purchasing guidelines. Motion was seconded, all were in favor, motion carried.
