Television Districts

Chapter 36.95 RCW.  The purposes of a television reception improvement district, hereinafter referred to in this chapter as "district", shall be to serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity in the construction, maintenance, and operation of television translator stations, including appropriate electric or electronic devices for increasing television program distribution, but said purposes are not meant to include the construction or operation of television cable systems, commonly known and referred to as cable TV systems or CATV.

The Okanogan County Treasurer's Office collects for three television districts in our county.

Communications District #1:  $45.00 yearly assessment fee.  This covers the Oroville to Malott area.

Methow Valley Communications:  $35.00 yearly assessment fee.  This covers the Methow area.

Television District #3:  $15.00 yearly assessment fee.  This covers the Brewster area.

The yearly payments are due by April 30.  A late fee of $2.00 will be charged to your account if the yearly assessment is not paid by June 1st.   There is a second billing done in June with the late fee which is due as soon as possible.

When paying any delinquent Television Districts after calculation date, contact this office at 509-422-7180 for the correct amount.

PAYMENTS NOT FOR THE CORRECT AMOUNT WILL BE RETURNED.
