The Okanogan County Board of  Equalization hears citizen appeals for values placed upon their property by the Okanogan County Assessor.  The members of this Board are appointed by the Okanogan County Commissioners, who attempt to appoint members from different areas of the county with varied interests and backgrounds. 

Okanogan County is divided into 4 assessment areas. 
Once every four  years the county appraises your property and determines its Market Value.
  The areas are as follows:

AREA ASSESSMENT YEAR
Oroville (Area 3)(Includes rural Omak)
(current assessment area)
Being assessed in 2008 for taxes payable 2009
Tonasket (Area 4) Being assessed in 2009 for taxes payable 2010
Methow Valley (Area 1) Being assessed in 2010 for taxes payable 2011
Okanogan (Area 2) Being assessed in 2007 for taxes payable 2008

NOTE: Appeals from outside the current assessment area must be postmarked by July 1, 2008.
